COMPARE Side by side
Both put a booking link in front of a customer. Only one of them runs a shop floor.
The short answer
Pick Calendly if
you are one person booking meetings, and money never changes hands at the appointment.
Pick VoltsBook if
you have staff, a price list, and money that changes hands at the appointment.
What Calendly does better
Calendly is the best tool in the world for putting a link in an email and letting someone pick a slot in your personal calendar. It is fast, it is beautifully made, and for one person booking meetings it is hard to beat.

Calendly exists to remove the email thread that arranges a meeting. It is built around one person’s calendar and does that job about as well as it can be done — connect a calendar, share a link, and the back-and-forth disappears.
A salon does not have that problem. It has three staff who each work different days, services that take different lengths, a deposit to collect, a stock cupboard and a stylist on commission. Arranging the time is the smallest part of the day.
Usually money. Calendly can collect a payment; it cannot hold a deposit against a running balance, split a payment across a card now and cash on the day, or sell a course of six sessions and count them down as they are used.
Then staffing. A shop needs each person’s own hours, their own services, buffers between jobs, and holidays that close one person without closing the business.
Then everything after the appointment: an invoice generated from what was actually sold, commission reconciled from what was actually paid, stock that moved because something was bought.
Very little, because there is not much to move. Calendly holds bookings rather than a customer history, so you set up services and hours — which the starter kits do most of — and begin taking bookings on the new link.
The two can run side by side while you decide. They are just two links.
