A barber finishing a cut at the chair

09:12 The problem

Barbering runs on a tight grid. Appointments are twenty to forty-five minutes, most customers come back on a rhythm, and a fifteen-minute hole in the afternoon is a cut you did not do.

The software problem is not complexity. It is speed: booking has to take a customer ten seconds on a phone, and the chair has to be right.

Their barber, or the first one free

Regulars ask for a name. New customers take whoever is available soonest. Both work from the same page without anyone choosing wrongly.

Back-to-back without overrun

A skin fade that always takes forty-five minutes is booked as forty-five, so the next customer is not sitting in the window at quarter past.

Deposits stop the Saturday no-show

Saturday is the day a no-show hurts. A small deposit on peak slots is enough to change who turns up without putting anyone off.

08:00 A day on it

What the day actually looks like.

  1. 09:00 The board is already full to eleven, booked overnight through Instagram.
  2. 11:20 A cancellation frees a chair. The waiting list is notified in the order people joined.
  3. 15:00 A regular books their next cut at the counter, on your screen, in about four taps.
  4. 17:00 Tomorrow’s reminders go out. The Saturday list gets theirs the night before as well.
  5. 18:00 Commission for each barber is already worked out from what was actually paid.

ASKED Questions

What barber businesses ask.

Can each barber have their own hours?
Yes. Everyone keeps their own week, their own services and their own days off, and the page only offers what that person can genuinely do.
Can I pay my barbers commission?
Yes, as a percentage per person with a shop default. It is reconciled inside the payment and clawed back proportionally if you refund.
What about walk-ins?
Add them from the counter in a few taps. They land in the same book as the online bookings, so the day is one list.
How long does it take to set up barber booking?
Minutes. Choosing “Barber” at signup creates 6 services with durations, prices, opening hours and a first team member. Change or delete any of it — nothing is locked.
Do my customers need an app?
No. They open a link and book in a browser. Nothing to install and no account required.
What does it cost?
There is a free plan, forever. Paid plans add the money and scale features, and every account starts with fourteen days of everything switched on. No card to begin.
Can I move across from another system?
Yes. Customers, services, staff and appointment history import from most booking systems or an older VoltsBook, keeping the original booking numbers so a regular quoting a number still finds their appointment.
