A massage therapist working in a quiet treatment room

09:12 The problem

A spa sells the same treatment at several lengths, and the lengths are the product. Listing them as three separate services makes the menu twice as long and the reporting useless, because a sixty-minute massage and a ninety-minute massage are one thing sold two ways.

One service, several durations

A massage can be offered at thirty, sixty or ninety minutes, each with its own full price. The customer picks the length after the treatment, which is how they think about it.

Rooms as well as therapists

A couples room is a resource, not a person. Model it as a location so two therapists cannot be booked into one room.

Quiet between appointments

Buffers hold the changeover so a treatment never starts before the room is ready.

08:00 A day on it

What the day actually looks like.

  1. 09:30 A ninety-minute booking arrives; the room and the therapist are both held.
  2. 12:00 The couples room fills for the afternoon, once, because it can only be booked once.
  3. 16:40 A course of six is sold. The system counts them down as they are used.
  4. 18:00 Remaining credits are visible per customer, so nobody has to check a card in a drawer.

ASKED Questions

What massage and spa businesses ask.

Can I sell a course of treatments?
Yes. A package holds a number of sessions, a credit is taken at booking inside the same transaction, and a cancelled session returns it exactly once.
How do I handle a couples room?
Model it as a location. Two people cannot be booked into one location at the same time.
Can prices differ by length?
Yes — each duration carries its own full price, not a multiplier.
How long does it take to set up massage and spa booking?
Minutes. Choosing “Massage and spa” at signup creates 5 services with durations, prices, opening hours and a first team member. Change or delete any of it — nothing is locked.
Do my customers need an app?
No. They open a link and book in a browser. Nothing to install and no account required.
What does it cost?
There is a free plan, forever. Paid plans add the money and scale features, and every account starts with fourteen days of everything switched on. No card to begin.
Can I move across from another system?
Yes. Customers, services, staff and appointment history import from most booking systems or an older VoltsBook, keeping the original booking numbers so a regular quoting a number still finds their appointment.
